Experience the unique nature of Rokua National Park with a private guide – effortlessly and comfortably!
The guide will pick you up directly from your accommodation in Oulu, and together we will drive through the wonderful valley of the Oulu River towards Rokua National Park. During the one hour’s drive, you will hear interesting stories about the history of the valley and its settlements.
In Rokua, we will hike about 7 km in the wonderful landscapes shaped during the last Ice Age. Our trip takes us to the best destinations in the national park, such as Finland’s deepest kettle hole, Syvyydenkaivo, and parks highest point, Pookivaara with its famous observation tower. At the lake Pitkäjärvi, we will take a relaxing break – here, you can refresh yourself even with a dip in the crystal-clear water of the kettle lake!
During the hike, your guide will tell you about the unique features of the national park and Rokua Geopark, the formation of the landscape, and the flora and fauna of the area. In addition, you will hear fascinating stories about the area’s past, residents and visitors.
After hiking, you can rest and relax while the guide transports you comfortably back to your accommodation. On the way back, you can get more information about the history of the region and the city of Oulu.
If you wish, you can order in advance a traditional barbecue sausage or a delicious snack package as additional services, but you are of course also welcome to bring your own snacks.
